THE Oxford Mail player ratings after Oxford United ended the Sky Bet League One season with a 2-1 defeat at home to Accrington Stanley.
SIMON EASTWOOD
Made one good save to deny Nathan Butler-Oyedeji in first half stoppage time and was ultimately beaten by two clever goals – 7
SAM LONG
Got forward well and had one hooked effort go over the crossbar but will be disappointed he let Aaron Pressley run off him for the winning goal – 6.5
ELLIOTT MOORE
Had a couple of headed chances from set pieces and was dominant aerially in his own half – 7
STUART FINDLAY
Another who managed to get an opportunity from a set piece but failed to take full advantage – 7
CIARON BROWN
United’s player of the year was his usual reliable self. Solid at the back and linked up play nicely down the left – 7
CAMERON BRANNAGAN
More involved in an attacking sense than he has been in recent weeks and demonstrated his superb range of passing in the first half – 7.5
MARCUS MCGUANE
Arguably beaten too easily by Korede Adedoyin when he cut inside and fired in, but was positive on the ball when U’s dominated opening 45 minutes – 6.5
TYLER GOODRHAM
Was the brightest spark during the first half as he buzzed around from right to left, getting into good positions and bringing teammates into play. MAN OF THE MATCH – 8
BILLY BODIN
Took his goal well and his return from injury came at a crucial time for the club. His quality on the ball shines through and will be an important asset next season – 7.5
MARCUS BROWNE
A couple of dangerous runs down the left got fans out of their seats, and highlighted he’s more than capable of playing on the wing as well as No 10 role – 7.5
KYLE JOSEPH
He and Goodrham were the real livewires in the first half although the Swansea City loanee was guilty of missing a few chances. Ends the season with nine goals, and a popular figure at the club and among fans. BOOKED – 8

SUBSTITUTES
Josh Murphy (for Browne, 61)
Another encouraging display, this time just a half-hour cameo. Has finished the season well after a season to forget – 7.5
Gatlin O’Donkor (for Bodin, 61)
Unable to make an impact as U’s took their foot off the gas and failed to back up a bright first half performance – 6
Brandon Fleming (for Brown, 63)
Hasn’t been able to displace Brown at left back but has shown good signs when coming off the bench in recent weeks. Will be interesting to see if a permanent deal is pursued or not – 6
Unused: McGinty, Anderson, Smyth, Wildschut.
