Oxfordshire's marksmen were bang on target to win the Clay Pigeon Shooting Association (CPSA) South East Region Skeet Team Championships at Dartford.
The five-man Oxon team posted an impressive score of 486 out of 500.
They then had to endure a two-hour wait before crowned champions by the narrowest margin, with Kent runners-up on 485 and Surrey third.
Chalgrove's Martin Green, Dunsden's Ken Smith and Chipping Norton's Jon Wright scored 98 out of 100 apiece, while Banbury duo Tony Nicholls and Keith Joines hit 96 each.
To add to Oxon's success, Tony Nicholls took the veterans' title following a shoot-off with Essex's Bob English.
Nicholls recorded a perfect score of 25 out of 25.
