TYLER Goodrham is set to make a return to the Oxford United squad this weekend after a scan revealed his hamstring problem is less severe than initially feared.
The 19-year-old missed the defeat at Cambridge United on Saturday with the hamstring complaint.
However, U’s head coach Karl Robinson has revealed that the winger should be able to play a part at home to Bristol Rovers this weekend.
“It was a fatigue issue and we’re hoping to have him back in the squad for the weekend,” said Robinson.
“The scan came back quite positive, which we’re over the moon with.
“He’s obviously got something in there which we’ve got to be careful with.
“He’s played so much football and training with the first team for a full year, we’ve to protect him a little bit.
“He felt a little bit of fatigue in his hamstring – we’ve got to be really careful with him but we’re hoping to have him back in the squad for the weekend.”
Billy Bodin meanwhile is further back in his return to fitness after going off during the loss to Shrewsbury Town on February 4.
Robinson said: “He’s someone who’s important to us but right now he’s unfortunately not training with the squad, but he’s back on the grass so he’s not too far away.”
