KARL Robinson believes his Oxford United side should’ve taken more than a point from their trip to MK Dons, after ending the club’s four-game losing streak.

Lewis Bate’s wonder strike with just under 20 minutes to go rescued a point for United, after Sullay Kaikai had given the Dons a deserved lead at half-time.

The U’s improved in the second half though, so much so that Robinson felt his team was unlucky not to pick up all three points.

United’s head coach said: “I thought we deserved more, I thought our chances were far more frequent.

“Even though we weren’t great in the first half, I don’t really remember being under a lot of pressure.

“I thought in the second half, we showed a little bit more of what we expect from this team.

“When you’re in that little bit of adversity and things aren’t going for you, for a team to come out in the way they did in the second half and perform the way they did, I thought was sensational.”

Not having consistency in their performances is something that continues to irk Robinson though.

He said: “If we had a criticism of our team at this moment in time, we have to show a consistency.

“Josh [Murphy] can be a nine or a five since he’s come back, Yanic [Wildschut] can be the same – we have to find a greater level of consistency.

“We know they can hit heights beyond anyone at this level, but they’ve got to find a way of being more consistent in their output – that’s something we’ve spoken to them about.”
