OISIN Smyth is set to remain at Oxford United in the short-term before a potential loan move after deadline day.
The 22-year-old midfielder joined Vanarama National League side Solihull Moors on a month-long loan on January 5 and his return to United was confirmed this morning.
Smyth made three appearances for the Moors this month, and U’s head coach Karl Robinson said today that Smyth will stay in Oxfordshire in the short-term.
Non-league clubs are able to make transfers outside of the English Football League (EFL) deadline, allowing Smyth the opportunity to leave United on loan.

“We’ll assess that, he’s had a terrible loan in relation to the uncontrollables,” Robinson said.
“I think he had three of his games called off and that’s so unfair on the player.
“It’s been really difficult for him to find any momentum.”
In October, Smyth injured his hamstring just as he was about to head out on loan to an unnamed National League side.
Last month, Smyth had a trial at a Sky Bet League Two club, with the aim of securing a loan move until the end of the season. However, no deal could be struck.
Since joining the U’s from Northern Ireland side Dungannon Swifts on deadline day last January, Smyth has played just two games for the club.
