JOE Iaciofano’s hat-trick helped Oxford City win a pulsating clash at home to Chippenham Town.

The Hoops ran out 5-3 victors, extending their unbeaten run to eight games in Vanarama National League South.

Jordan Young opened the scoring for the visitors just after the half hour mark, but City responded within five minutes when Iaciofano picked himself up to score from the penalty spot.

The striker doubled his tally in first half stoppage time after being picked out by Lewis Coyle.

Five minutes into the second half, Iaciofano completed his hat-trick when he capitalised on a loose ball and beat goalkeeper Will Henry.

Harry Parsons pulled one back on 52 minutes, before Josh Parker restored City’s two-goal advantage with a curling effort from the edge of the box.

Luke Russe rounded Ben Dudzinski to give the away side hope again, but Klaidi Lolos wrapped up the three points with a dipping 30-yard effort, as the Hoops move up to fifth in the table.

Meanwhile, Charlie Rowan has joined league rivals Weymouth on a one-month loan.

Head coach Ross Jenkins said: “It’s a good move for Charlie, he’s a great lad with great ability and ambition.

“We’ve got to help the player as much as possible and at the moment he’s been starved of minutes.”

Banbury United moved up to seventh in National League North after a 1-0 win at Boston United.

Jak Hickman scored the only goal of the game, tapping in after 14 minutes following good work on the left from Giorgio Rasulo.

North Leigh’s home fixture against fellow Southern League Premier South strugglers Plymouth Parkway was postponed.
