Nearly 200 years of tranquility and tradition in The Parks will be shattered for a few short hours on Friday evening when Oxford and Cambridge play in the inaugural Twenty20 Varsity Match.
Instead of the traditional whites, the teams will be playing in jazzed up dark blue and light blue kits, while each batsman will take to the field with music of his own choice emitting from the loud speakers.
And the bowlers will be using pink balls!
Oxford skipper Ollie Sadler is excited by the prospect. "The squad are really looking forward to it," he said.
"We have to accept that it requires different tactics and we are working hard to tailor our skills. It should be a great atsmosphere."
Competition for the Charles Russell Cup starts at 4pm - no floodlights have been installed - and there wil be a bar for the several hundred spectators expected to attend.
OXFORD UCCE face an uphill task to reach the BUSA Championship semi-finals.
They must beat Bournemouth in The Parks today and hope Cardiff beat Leeds/Bradford on the same day to go through - any other combination of results and they are out.
