OXFORD Stadium is set to host its first major greyhound racing final in over a decade – with £10,000 on offer to the winner.
The Cowley Puppy Collar started at the beginning of the month, with a 48-strong line-up now reduced to just six.
Rab McNair has two greyhounds in Friday’s final, with FromPostToPillar and Havana Allablaze declared to race.
The former is the favourite to win, having won all three of his qualifying heats in dominant style. Havana Allablaze is joint second favourite.
Despite holding Oxford’s 450-metre track record, McNair believes there is more to come from FromPostToPillar, who turns two next month.

“He is still a bit green and puppyish, but at the moment, everything is going right for him,” said McNair.
“We’re learning about him every day and vice versa. He’s still immature and we believe there’s a lot more to come from him.
“Friday’s semi-final was a great education. He hit a bit of trouble in the first turn and at that moment I thought to myself ‘what are you going to do now?’.
“Before I could answer the question, he gave the answer.
“He never lost momentum and took everything in his stride, and showed what he’s capable of when extending down the back straight.”
