KARL Robinson was full of praise for Kyle Joseph after the striker’s double helped Oxford United claim three points at Exeter City.
The U’s travelled to Devon in the midst of a turbulent run of form, having gone five games without a win, in all competitions.
However, United found themselves 3-0 up at half-time thanks to strikes from Cameron Brannagan, Sam Long and Joseph.
The Swansea City loanee added his second of the afternoon shortly after the break, to give the U’s a commanding 4-0 lead.
The hosts pulled two goals back, including one in stoppage time, but the result never truly looked in doubt for Robinson’s side.
On Joseph, Robinson said: “He’s outstanding, his work ethic is incredible and he gives you everything every single time he puts the shirt on.
“Yes, he makes mistakes and he’s a little bit erratic at times.
“His first goal is something me and him have spoken about.
“There’s different ways of finishing, sometimes he waits too long and people get blocks off.
“The beauty about today was that he took things quick and that was pleasing.
“He’ll obviously get the headlines, but every single player today really shone.”
Robinson paid further praise to his squad for sticking together following last weekend’s defeat at home to Wycombe Wanderers.
“We spoke about how much we believe in each other, people have got every right to question whatever they want to say but one thing you can never knock us on is our togetherness,” said Robinson.
“We were outstanding last Saturday and all the criticism we got was I felt, unfair on the players and myself.”
