Oxford Saints came from behind to record a thrilling 16-6 win away to Kent Exiles in BAFL Division 1 South.
Kent topped the table going into Sunday's clash and led 6-0 at half-time against Oxford.
But once Adam Newman kicked a 42-yard field goal, Saints took control to record their second win in a row.
Newman also starred in Oxford's rampaging defence, which sacked Kent's quarter-backs ten times, picked up three interceptions and two fumble recoveries.
Running back Andre Becker powered in from three yards for Exiles' early touchdown.
Good defensive work from Andrew Day and Ian Harry kept Kent at bay.
Strong running from Chris Taylor and Bryan Myers gave Saints the platform for Newman's field goal as the momentum shifted.
Oxford quarter-back Jay Taylor then found wide receiver Pete Cleaver, who outsprinted the defence for a 38-yard touchdown and a 9-6 lead.
Cleaver's interception set up Oxford's second decisive touchdown with Taylor blasting his way through from 18 yards.
Newman slotted the conversion to put Saints 16-6 ahead at the end of the third quarter.
Defences were on top in the final period with Preston Perkins, Ross Gouldie, Lee Hutton and Ben Tolley making notable contributions for Oxford.
Saints' next match is at home to Kent on June 8.
