Cricketers across Oxfordshire will tomorrow pay their respects to The Oxford Times Cherwell League president Derek Primett, who died on Sunday.
A minute's silence is to be observed in his memory before matches in The Oxford Times Cherwell League, and the Home Counties Premier League games between Oxford and Banbury, and Thame Town and Kidlington.
In a message to clubs, Cherwell League chairman Martin Phillips said cricket in the area would be the lesser for his passing.
He added: "Not to see Derek again, be it umpiring for his beloved Willows or stood at the bar with a pint, or listening to him making his point in a meeting, or one of his famous end-of-season speeches at the presentation evening is a sad thought."
A funeral service will take place at the Oxford Crematorium on Thursday (3.45), followed by a get together at The Talk House pub at Stanton St John.
Due to the limited capacity of the chapel, Derek's family have asked clubs to send only two official representatives to the service.
Family flowers only, but donations to Cancer Research UK can be sent to the funeral directors - Greens Funeral Services, 21 High Street, Eynsham, OX8 1HE.
