Oxford University's footballers have returned from Czechoslavakia after taking on Slavia Prague.
The Dark Blues, who were the first English side to play Slavia in 1899, were there to help open the club's new Stadion Eden ground.
Although Oxford lost 5-0 to a side containing former Liverpool aces Patrick Berger and Vladimir Smicer, sabbatical officer Nik Baker was delighted with the trip.
"It was very, very good," he said. "The whole club were great to us. They actually apologised for not letting us score!
"The fans were brilliant. They had prepared a pack containing scarves, t-shirts and programme.
"We had a tour of the stadium before the game. Everything about it was beautiful. The pitch was immaculate.
"To be the first players to step out onto the pitch was a real honour. After the match and during it the fans were chanting for us."
Evans said that a reciprocal trip had not yet been planned, but added: "The whole trip was a brilliant experience and we need to make sure they stay friends of our club."
Last weekend, Evans went back to watch Slavia win the Czech title with a 2-2 draw against FK Jablonec.
