Jay Taylor was Oxford Saints's hero in their thrilling 14-13 win away to Southern Sundevils in the BAFL Division 1 Southern Conference.
The quarterback notched both Oxford touchdowns, the second coming in the dying minutes to snatch victory.
Saints opened the scoring after a good run from Chris Taylor took the ball down to Southern's two-yard line.
With the Sundevils expecting Oxford to try and power their way in, Jay Taylor dropped back to pass.
But, unable to find an open receiver, he scampered into the end zone to give Saints the lead, and Adam Newman slotted the extra point.
Defences remained on top for the second and third quarters with Adam Newman and Tyler Amish immense for Oxford.
In the fourth quarter, Southern scored, but instead of going for the extra point, they went for a two-point conversion, only for Ben Tolley to knock the ball down with a spectacular dive.
However, the Sundevils breached the Saints defence again with four minutes left to go 13-6 ahead.
But with two minutes left, Oxford pegged Sundevills back and Taylor scampered untouched into the end zone behind a big block from Clive Russell to tie the scores.
Newman added the extra point to edge Oxford ahead.
A big hit by Saints's Andrew Day and Ian Harry then clinched victory.
