Oxford City came away with two silver medals from the National Veterans Road Relay Championships at Sutton Park, Birmingham.
Over the three-mile course, the vet 50 team finished second by 18 seconds with a combined six-leg time of 1hr 43mins 20secs, while the vet 60s, last year's winners, also finished second, 46 seconds behind Elswick Harriers.
In the vet 50 race, Trevor Dixon clocked City's best time and seventh overall with 16.24, finishing the third leg in third place.
Stewart Thorp, making his debut, clocked 17.45, while Dave Hartwell and Richard Grant recorded 17.38 and 17.39 respectively.
Phil Huxley pulled the team into second place on leg five with a time of 16.50.
On the anchor leg, Brian Green briefly took the lead, before fading to second with a time of 17.04 - tantalisingly close to victory.
The three-man vet 60 team were missing star runner John Exley.
Roy Treadwell clocked the third-fastest time of the day with his opening leg of 17.29, while Dave Parsons (18.05) and Gareth Jones (17.52), were unable to make an impact on the Northumberland winners.
The vet 40s came a creditable 11th in the eight-stage event.
Steve Male clocked the fastest leg, running 15.19.
