Oxford United have announced exciting new plans to ensure that girls football in the county is taken to a new level.
Having launched their Centre of Excellence and Football Academy programmes for girls 12 months ago, the U's have revealed that both will be linked directly with their ladies team to enable girls to progress right through the club.
It means that talented youngsters can now play for United from eight-years-old, right up to senior football.
Richard Blackmore, Director of girls' football, said "After our first, very successful year with the Centre of Excellence, we are pleased to be able to offer a complete pathway for talented girls in Oxford- shire".
"It is something that we have needed in this area for a long time and we are delighted it has all fallen into place."
United run four Centre of Excellence teams, combining two age groups, who will play their weekly fixtures in the South East region against high-profile teams such as Chelsea, Fulham, Reading, QPR and many others.
As part of this programme they will also train twice a week.
The Oxford United Football & Education Academy is a one, two or three-year course open to 16-18 year olds.
In the course you will gain FA qualifications such as FA Level 1 & 2 in coaching, FA basic treatment of injuries, CSLA, HSLA and emergency aid, as well as gaining the BTEC First (level 2) or the BTEC National Diploma (Level 3) in sports performance and excellence.
Blackmore added: "This is a great way to gain qualifications while doing what many children enjoy the most - playing football.
"We are confident that this new set-up will be extremely popular, and are urging anyone interested in playing for us to get in contact immediately.
"We are holding trials for the Centre of Excellence at Abingdon's Tilsley Park on the 11th, 18th and 25th of June, and so any interested players should call me on 01865 337510 or e-mail blackmore196@btinternet. com."
