Oxford eased to their second successive win with a comfortable seven-wicket success over Reading in Division 1 of the Home Counties Premier League on Saturday.
The defending champions were too strong in all areas for their opponents in a one-sided match.
After winning the toss, Reading started well with a first-wicket stand of 60.
But Jack Brooks showed just why he had been given a trial with Surrey, beating the bat on countless occasions before claiming two wickets before lunch as the hosts reached 89-4.
Then it was the turn of spin twins Rupert Evans and Francois Vainker to take centrestage, both claiming three wickets apiece as Reading were dismissed for 123 in the 48th over.
Evans finished with 3-11 off eight overs, and Vainker 3-21 off 7.5.
In reply, Oxford lost Graham Charlesworth and Stewart Laudat cheaply, but skipper Jason Harrison and Rajiv Sharma shared a third-wicket stand of 84 as Oxford cruised home in the 33rd over.
