Craig Haupt smashed 72 in just 73 balls as Banbury got off the mark with a six-wicket win over Falkland in Home Counties Premier League Division 1 on Saturday.
Chasing a modest 150-9, Haupt decided attack was the best form of defence, and hit three sixes and eight fours in his classy knock.
After winning the toss, Banbury soon had their visitors in trouble, Ed Smith making two early breakthroughs.
They continued to take wickets at regular intervals and Falkland limped to 150-9 off 64 overs.
Luke Ryan took 3-25 off 11 tight overs, with every Banbury bowler claiming a wicket.
In reply, Banbury soon lost skipper Benji Hector, but that just brought Haupt to the crease.
With Simon Hole making 35 not out and Steve Beck hitting a quickfire 17, Banbury passed their target with just 32 overs bowled.
Banbury 25pts, Falkland 5
