Thame fell to a six-wicket defeat at home to Gerrards Cross in Home Counties Premier League Division 2 West - but the toss and weather interruptions played a huge part in their downfall.
Asked to bat first on a lively wicket, Thame recovered from the early loss of Sam Lachlan to reach 90-3 at lunch.
Good knocks from Adam Krol (65), Luke Merry (47no) and Manoj Parmar (35) saw them reach a respectable 182-6 with various interruptions restricting their innings to 55 overs.
The visitors got off to a good start, and Thame, who lost last week, struggled to get a much-needed breakthrough.
Eventually they did, but with the weather closing in, Gerrards Cross needed 101 off the last 11 overs for victory, with nine wickets in hand.
And as Thame struggled to control a damp ball, some hard-hitting from the middle order saw them home in the penultimate over.
Thame 5pts, Gerrards Cross 25
