City of Oxford's Charlotte Alsop led the way in the Kingerlee Swimming Trophy at Stantonbury Campus Pool in Milton Keynes.
Five City swimmers were selected for the Oxfordshire and North Bucks ASA junior county team, and along with 12-year-old Alsop, Emma Lomas (12), Leanne Brooks (13), Molly Williamson (12) and Lucy Smith (11) helped achieve second place against strong opposition from Bedfordshire, Warwickshire and Leicestershire.
Alsop took first place in the 100m backstroke (1.14.87), Lomas and Smith achieved second places in the 100m breaststroke (1.24.53) and 50m freestyle (31.58) respectively, while there were third places for Williamson in the 100m butterfly (1.16.74) and Smith in the 50m breaststroke (31.58).
In the relays, Brooks swam a 29.98 second split to help gain third place in the 13-year-old girls' 4 x 50m freestyle.
Result:1 Warwickshire 131 pts, 2 Oxon & N Bucks 123, 3 Leicestershire 118, 4 Beds 102.
Abingdon Vale's Josh Whittall swam his way to three long-course club records at the No-Frills meet in Aldershot.
The 13-year-old set new bests in both the 200 breaststroke (3.12.97) and the 200m individual medley (2.58.09) and also secured the 14 & under record for the 100m freestyle with 1.07.67.
Other age-group club records were set by Nicola Curtis, 12, in the 100m backstroke (1.23.42) and Tim Blackman, 16, in the 100m freestyle (1.03.52).
