ROSS Jenkins was critical of the refereeing after a controversial decision was given against his side.

With Oxford City 3-2 up, and weathering a fightback from Bath City, a penalty was awarded against Canice Carroll for a handball.

When the ball struck Carroll, he appeared to be outside the area, however referee Jamie O’Connor gave a penalty to the Romans.

Cody Cooke scored from the spot, bringing the tie level, although Jenkins was left far from pleased with the performance of the officials.

City’s head coach said: “It’s important we take the positives because there’s bundles of them, I walked in at half-time really pleased.

“A few bad decisions, which happens in football – we’ve had a few this season, we don’t want too many more, but those sort of moments define games sometimes.

“I feel for the boys at times, the amount of effort they put in, and one decision can put you on the backfoot and kill you, but we showed good character to go again.

“A point after what’s happened is a fair result.”

Jenkins was full of praise for Josh Parker, who grabbed his first two goals for the Hoops.

“He’s got loads of experience, he’s got plenty of energy left in the tank still,” said Jenkins.

“He’s honest and he’s come in and really affected us, and he got two really good goals.”
