Oxford United will take on Coca-Cola Championship side QPR at home in a pre-season game in July.
The match takes place on Saturday, July 19 (3pm) and will stir memories for some of the 1986 Milk Cup final.
It is also a first return for striker Dexter Blackstock to the club where he started his career.
QPR finished 14th in the Championship, but only 12 points off the play-off places.
With their mega-rich owner Flavio Briatore expected to allow manager Luigi Di Canio considerable funds for new players, it could be a summer of frenetic transfer activity at Loftus Road, which is sure to add to the game's interest.
United are also taking on Cheltenham Town, who at the weekend confirmed their status in League One, in a pre-season friendly at home on Saturday, August 2.
