Oxford City boss Justin Merritt has urged his players to finish the job when they host Uxbridge in the Division 1 South & West play-off final at Court Place Farm on Saturday.
City reached the final after a 5-4 penalty shoot-out against Didcot Town after the sides were locked at 2-2 after extra-time.
And Uxbridge booked their place as they came from behind to beat ten-man Fleet 2-1 on Thursday, having finished fifth in the regular season.
"There is nothing better than winning promotion at your own ground, but of course, there is no worse feeling than losing out on promotion at home," Merritt said.
"So it's up to us to go out and finish the job."
"It's a great opportunity to go out and achieve what we set out to do at the start of the season - and that was to get promotion.
Merritt, who attended Thursday's game while his assistant Mike Ford took training, believes his side's quality will come through.
"Uxbridge are very strong and put the ball into good areas. They have got quality from set-pieces and players that can score goals," he said.
"They have got a really good work ethic and are quite similar to us - though I would hope that we have that extra bit of quality.
But City's boss, who is in his first year of management, is relishing the match.
"We're all keyed-up - I think they call it nervous energy," he said.
"I was involved in promotion games as a player and was never nervous, but when you're a manager you have a lot more to think about City are likely to be unchanged, although striker Alex Stewart, who impressed as a a substitute against Didcot, is pushing for a start.
Definitely out is their former Oxford United youngster Josias Carbon who has a knee injury.
Uxbridge, who boast ex-Chelsea player Mark Nicholls among their line-up, will be at full-strength.
"Oxford beat us twice this season and deserved to win both games," said boss Tony Choules.
"Their management has done a terrific job over there. It's think it's got all the ingredients of a cracking game."
