Kinloch AC's opening fixture in their P Woodley Summer League kicked off last Sunday at Ridgeway, where the 22 matchmen fished the blue and white pegs in glorious sunshine.
The venue fished pretty well, although there were four blanks.
The clear winner was Dave Wilsdon, who put 41.8.0 of carp on the scales, fishing the far shelf with sweetcorn on the hook.
Using the pole at 16m with maggot up in the water, Martin Blackman weighed in 23.8.0 of carp for second, followed by Derek Pumfrey with 20.4.0 of carp on corn well up in the water at about 16m.
Yarnton & District fished their final Winter League match on a very hard Clattercote Reservoir.
There were only seven anglers out, but that was expected as the league winner had virtually been decided.
At the weigh-in, it was Scott Miller (Predator) on peg 17 who won the match with a tench and a roach on pole and maggot for 3.2.0.
In second place was George Thomas with 2.3.0. He was on peg 23 and fished the method with an orange boilie to tempt a skimmer.
Nick Collier fished the pole and maggot and had a couple of roach for a third-placed 0.15.0.
Steve Cox lost a big carp on the feeder and thought he had blown the title. But he caught a small perch which was worth seven points, giving the league crown by just one point.
Final points: S Cox 43, N Collier 42, G Thomas 31, S Miller 30, T Wright (Predator), B Prior (Predator) 16.
