Wallingford coach Chris Norrington does not expect to make wholesale changes as they plan for life in South West 2 East.

The majority of the players who earned Wallingford's second successive promotion were the nucleus of their BB&O Premier Division title winning side last year.

And many of these came through the same Colts side together, which has fostered a real unity.

Norrington said: "We recruited one or two players last year and I would expect to do the same again.

"But I will be just as happy for these players to push on again.

"Everyone here has supported us. There are no egos at this club. We don't have any back biting.

"Kris Blaszko in his first season as captain has been wonderful."

Blaszko took over the captaincy from Olli Henderson, who has been away travelling this campaign.

"It is just the stuff of dreams to go from where we were, even two years ago, to here," said Blaszko.

"The club has never been as high as this and it's been going for 40 years.

"We've never had a crowd like Saturday down here and hopefully they will come back for more.

"We won't be charging people to watch us next year.

"Next year is going to be a big test for us, playing sides like Reading, but we'll be up for it.

"It is just awesome to get promoted for the second year in a row."

What was the secret to their success?

Blaszko said: "It's just about commitment. I just can't thank the boys enough.

"There was a lot of talk at the end of last season that that the forwards weren't strong enough.

"But Mike Turner and Paul Lewis have come in and added bulk and the boys have stepped up to the plate.

"In the first game of the season we played Aylesbury, who had been relegated from South West 2, and didn't know what to expect.

"We won that one, but then lost the next at Grove with a weakened side.

"We only really got a run together after Christmas."
