A RECORD fifth-wicket stand of 139 between Duncan Bradshaw and Alex Ball was not enough as Oxford UCCE slipped to a five-wicket defeat on a thrilling final day of their clash with Nottinghamshire in The Parks.
After a washout on day two, both captains forfeited an innings to make a result possible, with Oxford foregoing their second innings and Nottinghamshire their first.
Resuming on 185-4, Oxford batted on, with Bradshaw and Ball taking the score to 324-4 - a record stand for the UCCE against a first-class county.
Bradshaw finished on 127 not out for his maiden first-class century.
Setting Notts 325 to win in two sessions, they reached the target with five wickets and 11 balls to spare.
