England seamer Stuart Broad is in the Nottinghamshire side to face Oxford UCCE in The Parks, starting today (11).
The promising paceman is the best known player in a strong side, which also includes Chris Read, Graeme Swann and Australian one-day all-rounder Adam Voges.
Ryan Sidebottom, who was originally set to feature, has been withdrawn from the team, but will play in Notts' Friends Provident Trophy game against Ireland on Sunday.
Broad gets the call alongside Nottingham-born duo Bilal Shafayat and Luke Fletcher who will be keen to play their way into contention.
"It will be good to see Stuart Broad playing cricket in a Notts shirt and I know that he has been chomping at the bit to get involved," said director of cricket Mick Newell.
"Stuart needs to get some overs under his belt and this fixture comes at a good time for the squad because all of our batsmen need time in the middle."
Oxford include spin duo Paul McMahon and Luke Ryan, who were mainstays of Oxfordshire's Minor Counties Championship side last summer.
Captain Peter Young will bat at No 4 in the three-day match.
Nottinghamshire: Jefferson, Wood, Shafayat, Adam Voges, Samit Patel, Chris Read, Graeme Swann, Stuart Broad, Paul Franks, Luke Fletcher, AJ Harris.
Oxford UCCE: Hooper, Abel, Lett, Young (capt), Brtadshaw, Ball, Kalam, McMahon, Duffell, Ryan, Morse.
