Jamie Hand says he's enjoying his football again, and will be doing his utmost in the last two games of the season to maintain Oxford United's winning run.

The U's made it three wins on the spin, within the space of eight days, with their 2-1 victory at Woking on Saturday, and Hand was one of their star performers.

"I feel I've put in a few good performances, but maybe if we haven't won the game, it doesn't look as good," he said.

"It's a performance I know I'm capable of week in, week out. It's nice to be playing regularly and I'm enjoying my football.

" think I could play like that more often, to be honest."

A feature of United's last two victories has been how Hand and Adam Murray have been picking up the pieces in central midfield higher up the pitch, which has resulted in the U's playing much of the match in their opponents' half.

"I'm probably more of a holding midfielder than an attacking one, but you've got to kick on and pick up the second ball and the higher up the pitch you are doing that, the more dangerous you are as a team," Hand agreed.

"It's something the manager has been getting us to work on, and in the last couple of games we've put it into practice very well."

It was Hand's pass that set Yemi Odubade free for his crucial opening goal.

"I'm delighted for Yemi," he said. "Since I've been here, he hasn't played many games, but I thought against York the other night, he was fantastic, and again today.

"When Macca (Craig McAllister) is holding up the ball and laying it off, he's so dangerous with his pace, and he's good for us in midfield."

The former Watford man wants to end this campaign on a high, but says it's too early to say what will happen in the summer.

"I'm contracted to the club until the last game of the season and I'll be giving my all and then we'll sit down and talk about something," he said.

"It's certainly a club I'm very fond of, but we'll see what happens and see what's happening elsewhere as well, and take it from there.

"It would be very nice to get a goal to finish the season off though."

Hand has scored once for Oxford, back in his time on loan from the Hornets under Graham Rix, during an otherwise dismal 6-1 League Two defeat at Yeovil, though the following day's Sunday papers had it credited to Mark E'Beyer.

"That was my first ever goal actually," he says.

"We were 5-0 down, and I scored with a left-foot volley. It didn't really mean much at the end of the day, but it meant a bit to me because it was my first career goal."
