Jack Brooks has the chance to shine when Oxfordshire host Buckinghamshire in a friendly at Kidlington on Sunday (11).
The Oxford pacemen didn't feature for the county last season despite impressing in his club's march to the Home Counties Premier League Division 1 title.
But he can now stake a claim in the attack for Oxon's opening MCC Trophy clash against Shropshire, which is a week away.
Brooks is joined by Ryan Newhook and Keith Arnold as frontline seamers, while Banbury provide five of the XI.
The 50-over-a-side fixture is the first senior Oxfordshire game to be held at Kidlington, which is a boost for the club's efforts to become a championship venue.
Captain Ian Hawtin said: "We are playing a strong side, so the aim is to get off to a strong start.
"We've had indoor nets since February, but playing outside is very different."
He added: "The grounds that are available for the county are few and far between. We need to extend that as much as possible.
"We will be looking at Kidlington's facilities and their ability to host big games."
Oxfordshire: Hawtin (capt, Banbury), Hewitt (Welwyn Garden City), Noble (Banbury), Cook (Oxford), Crosby (Oxford), Shahbaz Ali (Kidlington), Haupt (Banbury), Brooks (Oxford), Newhook (Banbury), Ryan (Banbury), Arnold (Banbury XX).
