Darren Patterson is already making plans for pre-season and one of those seems likely to be staying at the Royal Navy base in Portsmouth.
"The facilities there are fantastic," said Patterson after he and Mickey Lewis were given a tour when an Oxford United Under 23 side recently took on the Navy Under 23s there.
Meanwhile, Oxford United will end this season with a testimonial game at Kettering.
The Blue Square North champions, who include John Dempster, have arranged the testimonial for midfielder Brett Solkhon on Monday, April 28 (7.45).
Entry is by programme - £10 donation for adults, and free for under 16s.
Along with Kettering in the Blue Square Premier next season will be, almost certainly, Wrexham, now well adrift at the foot of League Two.
The Red Dragons were one of the original members of the Third Division North in 1921 and have been a Football League club ever since.
