Oxford United's star midfielder Adam Murray is convinced Oxford United can become successful again under manager Darren Patterson.
And he points to "the little details" that Patterson goes into, in his preparations and into getting everything about the team right, as proof that the U's will soon be going places.
Murray played a major part in helping Oxford to their fourth win in their last five away games in the Blue Square Premier when they triumphed 1-0 at York on Tuesday night.
And although, as Patterson himself admitted, United were "lacklustre" in the opening 45 minutes, they came out with all guns blazing in the second half and dominated the contest after Eddie Anaclet's breakthrough goal.
Murray said: "Our last few performances have been decent.
"We know in away games we're not going to be able to come to grounds and dictate the play for 90 minutes, like we can do at home, we know we're going to have to grind a result out."
And the experienced midfielder is excited by the prospects for the future at Oxford under Patterson.
"Since I've been here, for the last few months, the gaffer's tried to build something new, and something of his own, and I think that's really starting to show now," he said.
It has taken a while, but United really do look as though they are starting to develop that winning mentality that they will need next season if they are to challenge at the top.
"It's understandable that people get frustrated and fans get frustrated because they're not getting results instantly," Murray said.
"But I think the last few performances we've put in, we've been getting the results.
"That's what the gaffer's trying to build here and people are playing for their futures, so I don't think you'll be seeing any kind of those end-of-season performances you sometimes get.
"One of the reasons that I came here was that I could see exciting times ahead, it was the same when I moved to Carlisle. It's a club that you knew is going places.
"As soon as I spoke to Darren, the commitment he puts into every little detail . . . you find managers that do that go places - that's what imp- ressed me so much straight away."
