Windsor & Eton 2 (Williams 62, Chennell 72)
Abingdon Utd 0
Abingdon United made play-off-chasing Windsor work hard for their victory in Division 1 South & West on Saturday.
At times, Abingdon played some lovely football without getting a breakthrough.
Aaron Posey tested home keeper Sam Mazurek, who denied him with a diving save.
Abingdon thought they had got in front midway through the half as Sam Deering's pass set up Luke Holden who fired home, but to everyones's surprise, it was disallowed for off-side.
Windsor's dangerous Michael Chennels hit the base off a post and then forced a good save from Abingdon keeper Lee Farrow In the second half, Abingdon's Micheas Herbert was denied by a goal-saving tackle before Windsor took the lead.
The ball was whipped in from a free-kick on the left, and Martin Williams got in front of his man and glanced it wide of Farrow.
Rather than their heads going down, United came back at Eton.
A Ryan Curtin free- kick went far post and was headed back across the face of the goal, just waiting for a foot to force it over the line.
But no-one could get to it in time.
The game was settled when Abingdon gave the ball away, and Chennels ran clear to chip the ball home over a stranded Farrow.
Abingdon boss Andy Slater threw on all three substitutes in an attempt to steal a point, but the matchhad gone.
