Clive Burnet won the Gentworks Oxford & District League's Ted Allsop Memorial Cup for the first time after pipping Pete Fenn at Riley Club.

Fenn had upset favourite Mick Bennett, a winner of the over 50s event from 2000 to 2006, in the semi-final, but Burnet's superior potting saw him home in the final 61-30, 51-52, 54-24.

Earlier, Bennett looked to be in control of his first frame, but Fenn's 20-break and then a long cut on a re-spotted black clinched it, followed by the second.

Burnett won his first frame against Mike Russell with relative ease, but sneaked the second by a single-point.

In league action, New Club A rallied from 2-0 down to defeat Riley C 4-2 in Division 1, thanks to wins from Alan Mander and Justin Shepherd.

Woodstock A enjoyed an identical result against Riley E, Rob Holt avoided a whitewash with victory over Priyan Shah.

In Division 2, Witney D stretched their lead to six points with a 4-2 win at Abingdon Con Club B.
