Oxford Harlequins' director of rugby Matt Maudsley knows they must not get too carried away by their Oxfordshire Cup victory.
The 30-21 defeat of Chinnor showed the levels Quins are capable of.
But the relative gulf between the sides is illustrated by the South West 1 table with Quins still needing a point to be mathematically safe from relegation.
Chinnor, meanwhile, could clinch the title on Saturday with victory at St Ives, should Bracknell fail to beat Redingensians.
Maudsley said: "I can't do much about it, but it is clear what their potential is.
"We are still in mid-table as we are a good conditions team. We don't play well in the mud."
He added: "We are still in a building process at the moment.
"Unfortunately the rugby has not gone quite as well as planned this year.
"The players that came in with big reputations weren't with us for long enough.
"Otherwise, I'm sure we would in the top four by now."
