Rover Oxford Ladies came from behind to beat bottom-of-the-table Bedford 3-2 at home in the Slazenger League National North Division.
They were unlucky not to score twice in the opening minutes and Bedford looked somewhat shaky.
Lyn Cockshott to put away the first goal when Jo Hayter put her through. Cockshott dummied the keeper and slotted home.
However, Bedford fought back and scored two goals before half-time.
Rover pulled out the stops in the second half and played with passion and pride. In the 54th minute a brilliant short corner routine saw Vicky Mankelow deflect the ball in.
Rover fought hard and finally Mankelow put away her second goal in the 70th minute to win the game just before the final whistle.
