Didcot Tn 1 (Peirson 84)
Winchester City 1 (McEnery 45)
Richard Peirson's free-kick six minutes from time gave Didcot a point as their stuttering form continued in Division 1 South & West.
The result means that Didcot have now taken only two points from their last four outings, a run that has seen them virtually relinquish any thoughts of making a title challenge.
But it could have been worse had Peirson not unleashed a spectacular 30-yard effort in the dying moments to snatch a draw.
The strong winds dictated play, although Richard Witt's stinging drive in the eight minute was held by Winchester keeper Andrew Smallpiece.
Brett Williams almost grabbed the opener for Winchester when, looking yards offside, he was allowed to burst clear, only to see his effort cleared by Scott Davis.
Peirson did well to block a goalbound Dave Allen strike, but as half-time loomed, the visitors went in front.
Watkins failed to gather the ball, which bounced into the path of Mike McEnery, who netted from an acute angle.
With the elements in their favour after the break, Didcot pulled out all the stops to get back into the game.
Witt grazed a post with a free-kick, then brought a flying save from Smallpiece soon after.
Paul Powell saw an effort fly just wide, while Witt saw another shot acrobatically tipped over by Small- piece, who was by far the busier of the two keepers.
Eventually, Didcot's pressure did pay when Anaclet Odhiambo earned his side a free-kick 30 yards from goal.
Peirson stepped up to thump the ball past Smallpiece.
Didcot threw everything at Winchester, as the game entered six minutes of stoppage time.
Powell missed from point-blank range, while Andy Parrott had a chance blocked.
With the last kick of the game, Jack King was presented with a chance four yards out.
With the goal at his mercy, he elected for power, and his shot thumped back off the crossbar.
