Witney Utd 1 (Wickens 31)
North Leigh 2 (Burnell 28, Mortimer-Jones 35)
North Leigh stayed three points clear at the top of the Premier Division after a slender victory over their west Oxfordshire rivals before a bumper crowd of 272 on Saturday.
Mark Gee's men have now beaten all three of their title rivals on the road in recent weeks, but this would have been the sweetest of them all as they maintained their push for the title.
Witney went close to taking the lead when Andy Marriott headed over from a Jon Steedman corner, and Marriott went close again, but directed a header just wide.
A fierce 30-yard effort from Witney's Jon Steedman was tipped over by Richard Barrett.
The visitors went in front when Chris Allen delivered a ball in between two Witney defenders and Joe Burnell stole in with a diving header, giving Chris Webb no chance.
But Witney were soon level as Steedman's excellent cross was met by the head of Gary Wickens for his 35th goal of the season.
Having restored parity so quickly, it was a big setback for Witney when North Leigh immediately regained the lead.
A free-kick 20 yards from goal saw James Mortimer-Jones direct his shot into the bottom corner.
In the second half, Andrew Younie saw a shot grabbed by Barrett at the second attempt.
But the keeper then almost gifted Witney an equaliser when his free-kick into the wind fell to Wickens, whose clever chip landed on the roof of the net.
Ben Reardon saw a low shot well saved by Webb, and two minutes later, Andy McCabe's goalbound shot was cleared off the line by Luke Brandon.
Witney had a great chance to snatch a point with a couple of minutes left, but Kevin Lewis was denied by some brave defending from Stuart Huxley.
Lydney Tn 2 (Allen 9, Timmins 85)
Abingdon Tn 1 f=Helvetica s=8(Bloomfield 67)
A goal five minutes from time denied Abingdon a point in the Forest of Dean.
They fell behind against the run of play when Mark Allen slotted home from just inside the area, but an under-strength Abingdon created plenty of chances.
Aaron Williams went close on 17 minutes, while Adam Wells's long-range effort was superbly saved by Lydney keeper Richard Thomas.
Tom Larman was inches away from equalising just before half-time.
Playing into the wind after the break, Abingdon pulled level midway through the half when Carl Bloomfield pounced on a loose ball to slot past Thomas.
But with just five minutes left, Lydney substitute Matt Timmins headed home from a corner to condemn Abingdon to defeat.
Kidlington 1 (Baker 69)
Highworth Tn 3 (Spalding 2, Corcoran 55, 84 pen)
Buoyant from their floodlit cup victory in midweek, Kidlington were brought down to earth as Highworth stole the points at Yarnton Road.
They fell behind to a sloppy goal early on when Phil Corcoran chased down a ball over the top.
Kidlington keeper Steve Benbow made an excellent block, with Lee Bolton hacking it away.
However, the ball fell to Lee Spalding, who chipped the ball home.
Benbow made a good save from Tony Joyce, while Corcoran saw an effort go over.
Kidlington were denied a penalty when Williams appeared to have been tripped, but was harshly adjudged to have dived in the penalty area, and received a caution from referee Adrian Piggott.
Highworth doubled their lead through Corcoran ten minutes after the break, before Mark Baker pulled one back with a powerful strike from six yards.
However, six minutes from time, Williams tripped Spalding in the box.
Corcoran stepped up to slot home the penalty to complete Highworth's victory. f=85 Helvetica Heavy l=8.5q=lTOWERING HEADER: during Saturday's Premier Division game at Ma
