YOUNG Ben Reardon's second-half strike gave North Leigh victory in their Premier Division top-of-the-table battle at Almondsbury Town.
Chris Allen's introduction after the break gave North Leigh the impetus to claim victory - and move five points clear of Almondsbury, who gave three games in hand.
The breakthrough came in the 68th minute when a James Mortimer-Jones corner was only partially cleared, and Reardon drilled home a low shot from 15 yards.
It was almost 2-0 minutes later as Mark Simms headed just over the bar.

MARK Baker struck deep into injury time to salvage a deserved point for Kidlington at Pegasus Juniors.
With seven minutes added on, he chased a ball over the top before smashing a shot past the keeper as he came off his line.
Kidlington had fallen behind in the 72nd minute when Chris Matlock beat a defender to shoot past Andy Hambridge, who had a solid game on his debut.

DOOMED AFC Wallingford gave Highworth Town an almighty scare before slipping to defeat.
Sean Weston opened the scoring for Wallingford on the half-hour mark, his shot from the edge of the area taking a big deflection to beat the keeper.
Wallingford looked to be heading for a shock victory until the 75th minute when debutant keeper Duncan Turner spilled the ball, and substitute Phil Corcoran poked home the equaliser following a goalmouth scramble.
Corcoran then grabbed his second with five minutes remaining, burying the rebound after Turner pulled off a brilliant save from his first effort.

HOOK Norton paid the penalty for missed chances as a late goal saw relegation-bound Harrow Hill snatch a share of the spoils.
With Hooky leading 2-1, Ben Elkington and Chris Jackson (twice) missed good opportunities before Tom Burford equalised at the far post from a corner with five minutes left.
Hooky had enjoyed a dream start with joint manager Ben Spiero turning the ball over the line in the second minute.
But Harrow Hill equalised when Scott Davies scored direct from a corner.
Gavin Hansell restored Hooky's lead five minutes into the second half with a low shot, but they were unable to kill the game off.

ABINGDON Town gained a valuable three points in their battle to beat the drop with victory at Bicester Town.
The visitors took the lead after three minutes when Danny Thomas was shoved in the back in the penalty area, and Tom Larman slammed home the spot- kick.
Bicester equalised against the run of play in the 28th minute when Dan Phipps header from a corner looped beyond Gareth Walker.
But Abingdon were back in front two minutes later, with good build up play ending with Adam Wells crashing home an unstoppable volley.

JEMEL Johnson's second-half equaliser earned Milton United a point at Lydney.
Johnson headed home a great cross from Adam Bailey in the 55th minute, after Mark Allen had netted for the home side in the first half.
