Martins slotted home the opener in the first minute, and doubled the lead soon after.
Two more goals from Martins plus a strike from Hollie Merriman gave Carterton a 5-0 interval lead, before Courtney Curle wrapped up the scoring in the second half.
St Edmunds proved a class above Benson, running out 9-0 winners.
They were 7-0 ahead at half-time, and were only denied a heavier victory by some great saves from Benson keeper Sophie Field.

Rosie Anderson hit a hat-trick for Oxford Bluebirds - but it proved in vain as her side went down 6-3 to Carterton, who were recording their 11th straight win.
Molly Bishop fired a treble for Carterton, with Megan Attenborough (2) and Charlotte Grant also on target.
