Frank Butler landed a monster chub to win the Jolly Angers' Novices Cup on the Oxford Reach, where nine fished.
Using a cage feeder with liquidised bread and flake, Butler banked two chub, one of which weighed a mighty 8lb 1oz.
Warren Cave was second with 12.10.0.
Andy Benwell was on form as the curtain came down on the Oxford Carp Winter League, the final match at Lower Court being fished by 15 anglers.
Benwell put 108.0.0 of carp on the scales, fishing the pole at 11m down the edge with maggot over caster.
In second place, with a net of carp going 95.8.0, was Dave Hawkins.
Dave fished maggot up in the water and did not feed anything, but tapped his pole tip on the water's surface, causing vibration and attracting the fish.
With 83.14.0, Chris Dann finished third fishing maggot down the edge.
Final standings: C Dann 11pts, D Hawkins 12, P Dann 13, G Knight 14.
What a match Kidlington's Last Chance Cup was.
The 17 matchmen found the Cherwell at Thrupp very patchy, but that did not stop the fish from biting.
With a new club river record of 73.12.0, Dave Scott-Picton won the match.
Fishing the pole with dendrabena, Dave had two chub for 11lb 8oz, perch weighing 18lb and 11 bream.
Using a feeder filled with hemp and caster and fishing caster on the hook, Jim Martin landed seven chub up to 6lb 8oz and a perch, for a second place 41.1.0.
A net of chub and perch weighing 20.8.0 was enough for Terry Lester to take third place.
Terry fished the pole with lob worm tail on the hook.
Final standings: 1 J Bean 124pts, 2 H Clarke 120, 3 T Lester 118, 4 A Middleton 91.
Cuddesdon Mill VAA held an open match on the Thame at Drayton Bridge, and it looked good for the 13 anglers, although it was very clear.
The winner was Philip Almond, who landed four chub, the best going 6lb for a winning 19.0.0.
Philip alternated between bread and worm on the ledger.
Also on the ledger with worm was Peter Price, who had two chub, the best going 5lb 8oz.
He ended up second with 7.10.0.
Fishing the pole and maggot, Brian Hutching weighed in 4.15.0 of silver fish for third place.
Littlemore AS fished their RC Smith Cup match on the weir stream at Sandford.
Alan Campbell had the match in the bag, but the generous gesture of lending Gerald Perks some worm and caster came back to haunt him, as Gerald went on to catch three tench to win the match.
Fishing the pole at 12m over chopped worm, Gerald finished with 13.14.0.
Alan fished the punch for five hours, and finished second with a good net of skimmers and roach going 13.0.0.
John Davies was third with a net of bits weighing 3.9.0 taken on stick float and maggot.
The Thame at Cuddesdon was described to me as rubbish' for Oxford Waltonians' Cuddesdon Shield.
The 12 anglers found the going hard with a river that was gin clear.
Fishing the pole and maggot, Mick Baston took the honours with a 9.10.0 of roach, chub and perch, his best perch going 2lb 14oz.
Feeding mashed bread with bread on the hook, Paul Bowers found two chub and two roach, weighing in a second placed 6.10.10.
Barry Edwards, with 5.14.0 of bits was third.
