Dan Rivers (pictured) has become a British champion after less than three years in the sport.
The 16-year-old, from Churchill Close, Didcot, took British Open junior men's air rifle title after scoring 668.4 points to finish 7.2 ahead of his nearest rival.
And his main target is to get in the British side for the London Olympics.
The St Birinus School pupil said: "I knew I had a chance as I was one of two main contenders.
"But after I scored 97.4 out of 100 in my first shoot, I was confident."
