Oxfordshire Under 18s ended their South West Counties Youth Championship campaign with a 4-2 home defeat against Cornwall, in a game that saw Corey Forbes sent off for two bookings.
In a forgettable first half, Cornwall went ahead when Aaron Bicknell netted on 20 minutes.
After the break Oxfordshire pushed forward a lot more, despite playing into a stiff breeze.
They were unlucky not to equalise when both Andy Stone (Carterton) and Forbes (Oxford City) were both denied by fine stops.
Oxon keeper Josh Bourton, who is still an under 16, then made a superb triple-stop to deny the visitors.
Forbes then saw red after collecting his second yellow card, and this opened the game up, with five goals coming in the final ten minutes.
Rob Hoskins (Milton) drew the hosts level, before a looping header over replacement goalkeeper Alex Williams (Oxford City) restored Cornwall's lead.
They then made it 3-1, only for Hoskins to force an own goal and set up a thrilling finale.
But with Oxon pushing forward, Cornwall substitute Lewis Young broke clear to make it 4-2.
Oxfordshire awarded county caps to Forbes, Williams, Calum McMahon (Kidlington) and Tony Booker (Oxford & Cherwell College).
