Oxford City 1 (Romeo 40)
Godalming Tn 2 (Purdy 35, 45)
Oxford City put in a lacklustre performance as their Division 1 South & West promotion hopes took another blow at Court Place Farm.
There were few opportunities in the early stages, but it was the visitors who looked more dangerous, Richard Taylor's long throw causing problems for the home defence.
From one of them, Chris Wales poked a shot just wide, while City's Steve Smith was the busier of the two keepers, saving twice from Brahim Elloughmani.
At the other end, Steve Davis saw a free-kick pushed over by the Godalming keeper, but little was seen of City's attack.
Godalming took the lead as a cross from the right was met by the head of Graeme Purdy before Smith could collect the ball.
City were soon level when Yashwa Romeo went past several challenges before slotting neatly past the Godalming keeper.
However, with the interval beckoning, the visitors went back in front.
Purdy was again the scorer as his header went above the reach of Smith.
There was little of note in the second half as City struggled to raise their game.
The nearest they came was when Romeo's decent strike flew over.
Michael Lyon also went close when his goalbound effort cleared off the line as the Godalming keeper went missing.
Oxford City: Smith, Saulsbury, Woodruffe, Gunn, Pond, Avery, Bell (Carbon 85), Malone (Redknap 71), Romeo, Lyon, Davis (Gardner 59).
Attendance: 189
