Oxford University head coach Des Brackett couldn't hide his joy at completing a hat-trick of victories.
And Oxford's 7-2 success represented a massive turnaround from a difficult start at the helm.
Brackett said: "I could have packed it in when we lost 9-0 in 2005, but I'm not a quitter.
"I had to change things round, but I still wanted to have boys who could box.
"What a bunch of lads! They worked so hard. But all respect to Cambridge, they didn't give up. To go 5-0 up was amazing!
"Many of them have only had two or three fights, they are novices.
"This is what our year is all about, the cold mornings, the runs up Headington Hill, it's all paid off.
Brackett added: "It was fairly hard to keep the momentum going for the boxers in the second half.
"Stuart Garman was my man-of-the-match tonight. He boxed really well. Our heavyweight. Peter Anderson, kept his composure well to finish it off.
"I couldn't do this without my assistant Dave Mace. We play off each other and he deserves a lot of credit for this victory."
