Stewart Moss and his fishing mate Steve Russell have turned their attention from chub and roach fishing on the Evenlode to piking on an Oxfordshire stillwater.
And they were pretty successful too, landing 23 of them, the best going 25.6.0 to Stewart.
They used small roach deadbaits attached to single size 5 ESP Raptor hooks, Soft Strandwire and Drennan bobber floats.
Our local rivers are producing good fish too, and Abingdon angler Ashley Street caught a nice pike of 25.10.0 from his local stretch of the Thames.
The fish took a fancy to a deep diving lure.
Chub are also responding well and that was confirmed when Ruislip AC fished a match on the Cherwell at Shipton.
The winner was Dick Forty with three stonking chub weighing a total 17.6.0 - specimens of 6.8.0, 6.1.0 and 4.13.0. They all took legered breadcrust.
Perch fishing on the Thames at Appleford, Craig Alston landed a cracker going 3.14.0.
Fishing a feeder with lobworm on the hook, he had only one bite, but made the most of it.
