City of Oxford's Joe Canlan-Shaw became the county's all time fastest 400m individual medley swimmer when he stormed home in 4.27.18 at the Oxfordshire and North Bucks long distance championships.
Teammate Sam van de Schootbrugge, 14, took the 16 & under record in the 400m freestyle and IM, in national qualifying and meet record times of 4.07.23 and 4.42.04.
There were championship bests in the 11 & under by Lucy Smith in the 400m IM (5.50.35), Emma Lomas in 400m free (4.58.08) and Thomas Ruddell in 400m freestyle (5.01.19).
They qualify for the South East regional championships later this year.
At this early stage in the County Championships, Lucy already has a hat trick of regional times after other outstanding swims in 800 and 400 free, as has Thomas with his impressive 1500 time and his 800 split. Silver medallists Emma Lomas and Molly Williamson achieved RQTs in the 400m IM and freestyle.
Molly also qualified for the regionals in 800m as did brother, Max, in 1500m.
Hannah Vine, 13, swam a RQT in the 800m freestyle. Leanne Brooks (800m freestyle) and Charlotte Alsop (400m) hit consideration times.
Ben Chapman, 14, won silver in 400m freestyle while in 400m IM, Drew Finnigan, 14, and Kieran Husband, 11, won bronze.
Witney's Holly Coulson, 9, won the backstroke and butterfly for the swimmer-of-the-match award at the junior novice graded gala at Wellingborough.
Debutante Josie Gillingwater (freestyle, backstroke) and Jenna Parry (11 & under backstroke) were joint runners-up.
Other Witney winners were Stephen Bennett (butterfly), Aimee Felstead (backstroke) and Megan Sulley (butterfly).
Result: 1 Rushden 223pts, 2 Witney 137, 3 Kettering 136, 4 St Neots 115, 5 Wellingborough 106, 6 Linslade 103. Witney personal bests: G Kendall (freestyle), J Possee (butterfly), H Blackford (breaststroke and backstroke), R Frost (backstroke), S Bennett (breaststroke), O Beland (butterfly), S Skinner (freestyle), E Fraser (breaststroke).
