Oxford City manager Justin Merritt has hit out at the Football Association after striker Errol Telemaque was handed a four-match ban for his sending-off against Paulton Rovers.
Merritt had expected the former Yeading striker to be suspended for three games, but the FA increased his ban by another match.
He said: "I'm not very happy about it increasing to four. The other fellow got a yellow card. It seems that the instigator of the offence gets less than the person retaliating. He got the additional one for his reaction to the red card.
"The annoying thing is that we can't appeal. The referee had an abysmal game.
"But we'll just have to deal with it. I feel sorry for Errol, he was playing really well."
Telemaque's ban starts with Saturday's visit of Godalming. Ricky Allaway (ankle) also misses out.
Winger Jon Gardner is set to return after recovering from a broken ankle.
Oxford C (Godalming, home): from Smith, Saulsbury, Woodruffe, Gunn, Pond, Avery, Malone, Romeo, Lyon, Bell, Davis, Jones, Redknap, Gardner.
