Clanfield 1 (Hunt 53)
Witney Utd 1 (Lewis 3) (aet, Clanfield won 5-4 on pens)
Clanfield caused the upset of the season with a penalty shoot-out victory over Premier Division high-fliers Witney United in the second round of the Soccer Kits Plus Supplementary Cup on Saturday.
Keeper Chris Brain was the Division 1 West side's hero with a superb penalty save from Andy Younie.
Witney took the lead when a cross from Lewis Brownhill was superbly volleyed home by Kevin Lewis from 12 yards The visitors had a chance to double their lead after 20 minutes when Adam Lock fouled Brownhill in the box. But Kevin Lewis blasted his spot-kick high and wide.
Clanfield equalised after 53 minutes when Chris Connell set up veteran Chris Hunt, whose 25-yard shot flew into the top right hand corner of the net.
It was then end-to-end stuff, with Witney's Harry Burnley hitting the bar and Clanfield's Dean Barker's header bouncing just over.
In the shoot-out, both sides scored with their first four penalties.
After Younie's effort had been saved, it was left to former Witney player Steve Knight to score and book Clanfield a quarter-final place.
Winterbourne 0
Ardley Utd 0 (aet, Ardley won 4-3 on pens)
Holders Ardley survived against their Division 1 West opponents, but only after an extended penalty shoot-out.
The strong wind prevented much constructive play in the first 90 miutes, at the end of which Ardley's Danny Mason forced a brilliant save from the home keeper.
Both Alex Feaver and Adam Beckett were also denied by the keeper in extra time.
In the shoot-out, Mason, Adam and Richmond scored before Beckett had his kick saved, but keeper Matt Dixon's fine save kept Ardley in the game.
Chris Hill gave Ardley the advantage, giving Tom Green the chance to win the tie, but blazed over the bar.
In sudden death, Winterbourne missed their kick allowing Feaver to see Ardley through.
