ABINGDON Vale's talented Olivia Law smashed the county 14 and under freestyle record on the second day of Oxon and North Bucks 400m Championships at Stantonbury, Milton Keynes.
Law recorded a time of 4 mins 48.19 secs to take the under 13's freestyle title, but also broke the record for the older age group.
Law was also runner-up in the 13 & under individual medley (IM) race, setting a club under 14 record of 5.26.27.
Vale's Jocelyn Devaux finished second in the under 15 freesyle in 4.24.72 to beat the club's 16 & under record.
In the IM, Amira Mullaney took the aged 16 title in 5.40.81, while Imogen West came second in the 15 & under race in 5.25.55 to take third place overall in the overall championship.
It was also a good day for Wantage White Horses' boys, who claimed eight top-ten places.
Guy Giles (13) finished second in the freestyle and third in the IM.
This performance was backed up by teammate Stuart Harrop (16), who finished fourth in the 400m IM and fifth in the freestyle.
Also swimming in the freestyle were Matthew Senior (10), who finished third, and Todd Giles (10) a place further back.
Wantage's Josh Harrop (13) claimed eighth place.
Representing the older swimmers was Rob Bowles (18) who sped into fifth place.
- FOURTEEN-YEAR-OLD Naomi Moore posted a fine victory in the ladies' individual medley as Witney continued their unbeaten run in the Chiltern League with a convincing win at Dunstable.
Moore's display earned her the club's swimmer-of-the-match award, with the runners-up vote being shared between nine-year-old Rowan Prosser and veteran Andy Colling.
