Banbury United player-manager Kieran Sullivan could be without four key players, including inspirational skipper Andy Baird, for tomorrow's trip to Premier Division high-fliers Halesowen Town.
Former Wycombe striker Baird is receiving intensive treatment on the groin injury which caused him to miss last weekend's 1-1 draw against Merthyr Tydfil.
Should Baird fail to recover it would leave them without four first-choice players for the trip to the Midlands.
Wayne Blossom starts the first of a five-match suspension, Lewis Travers a three-match ban, while new signing Craig Pearman serves a one-match suspension from his time at old club Woodford.
Stuart Bridges and brother Scott face late fitness tests on hip and groin injures respectively, but Sullivan is optimistic they will make it.
"Baird has been having treatment this week," said Sullivan, who adds himself to the squad.
"When I spoke to him on Tuesday, he said the injury had improved and he was hoping to make it for Saturday.
"Last week, we had Wayne (Blossom) as cover for him. So we need Bairdy back. As skipper he is important to us - he is the person all the players look to for inspiration."
Sullivan is anxious for his side to start turning their draws into wins. Saturday's stalemate against the Welshmen was their 13th draw of the season.
"We've lost only one in seven, but too many of those have been draws."
Abingdon United boss Andy Slater has urged his players to "go out and express themselves" when they host Uxbridge in Division 1 South & West.
On Tuesday, his side went down to their eighth defeat in 11 games with a 2-0 reverse at AFC Hayes.
But Slater feels it's just a matter of time before they start winning again.
He said: "I'm not exaggerating when I say we had seven clear-cut chances and had a blatant penalty turned down.
They had three chances and scored from two of them. We were fantastic, but we need to sustain that in every game. I know they are young - we had seven teenagers out there - but they have to get some consistency.
"There is no pressure on us. We are 12 points off relegation. I want the players to go out and express themselves."
They will be without Aaron Posey (suspended) and Dean Moss (unavailable), though Ryan Curtin and Matty Taylor return.
Leaders Didcot Town will be without the banned duo of Richard Witt, Ashley Vine and Matt Bicknell when they travel to Gosport Borough.
Anaclet Odhiambo (shoulder) is a doubt, while Liam Hope should return after an ankle injury.
"We're down to bare threads," said Peace. "But I'm confident that the players I have got can do the job."
