Carterton's Andy Wise staged an amazing fightback to be crowned the Oxon and Bucks area singles champion with a 21-18 win over Banbury's Mark Sykes in the final.
Trailing 18-6 at Oxford City & County, Wise looked down and out, but he rallied in tremendous style to roar to the title for the first time without Sykes picking up another shot.
Wise said: "It was just one of those amazing games. I started all right and went 3-0 up.
"Suddenly as the game progressed I was 18-6 down. I thought I would try and get to double figures to make it respectable and I got to 11, and then I got a two and a three and then I thought I could win it.
"It is just an unbelievable result."
Now Wise goes on to the national finals at Nottingham in on April 10.
Wise was unable to make it a double at the same venue the following day as his Carterton side went down to Oxford & District in the fours final.
Reigning champions Dale Hall, Nick Welsh, Howard Watts and Chris Allen had too many guns for Wise, Stuart Richens, Robbie Clanfield and Baden Sparkes.
The Oxford & District four also go on to Nottingham.
Meanwhile, Oxford & District's John and Mike Philpott were beaten 21-15 by Shaun and Arthur McCaughan (Betteshanger, Kent) in the national finals first round at Northampton.
In the national mixed fours, Carterton's Andy McIntyre, Rachel Coombs, Jeanette Latter and Robbie Clanfield went out 24-14 to Wellingborough in the second round.
They had opened up by edging past Ilminster 20-18.
